Colomb Bay

The cove most visitors miss — rock pools, a handful of quiet cafés and the best golden-hour light on this stretch of coast.

Between Palolem and Patnem the coast breaks into a small rocky bay. There is barely any sand at high tide, which is exactly why Colomb stays quiet: no sunbeds, no boats, just a few guesthouses and cafés on the rocks and the sound of water moving through the tide pools.

Come for a long breakfast or an early dinner, then walk the rocks at low tide. The path continues south to Patnem in another ten minutes, so it makes a natural halfway stop on the three-beach walk.

Best time: Low tide for the rock pools; the hour before sunset for photographs.
