Agonda is a three-kilometre stretch of sand with the fewest buildings per metre of any beach on this coast. It is a designated Olive Ridley turtle nesting site, which keeps the lights low and the crowds away. The surf is stronger than Palolem's, so it is a beach for walking, reading and long lunches more than for swimming.
The road there is one of the prettiest short rides in Goa: over the headland, past the fishing hamlets and down through the palms. Go for a late lunch, stay for the sunset, be back on the hill for dinner.
